Blog

A blog for parents

We write short articles about how you can help your child with school without making it harder. Everything is based on texts from Skolverket (the Swedish National Agency for Education) and on research, with links to the sources, and we don't claim anything we can't back up.

How we write

Every article starts from what Skolverket and the Public Health Agency of Sweden actually say, and from research on how children learn, for example that short sessions repeated over time stick better than long, rare ones. We link the sources at the end of the article, say when something is a recommendation rather than a rule, and avoid figures we cannot back up.

The articles are a complement to talking with your child's teacher. If you think your child needs support, you don't need a diagnosis to ask the school for help, and the pages on the curriculum by subject and year show what your child is expected to meet in each year.
